Some Qualified Fuels for the Systems we sell...

Cotton Gin Trash Briquettes

Adding Value to Ag Residue

A new densification process turns cotton gin trash into cost-effective 2" briquettes that  can be used as a replacement for fossil fuels such as gas, oil, or coal. This effort was part of Cotton Inc.'s Biofuels  Initiative where research was targeted to identify opportunities to add value to the 2.5 M tons of gin trash from each season's cotton crop.

Research funded by Cotton Inc., conducted at the USDA-ARS Gin Lab in Lubbock, TX has demonstrated that briquetting is a more cost effective and easier to manage process than pelleting.

Densifying gin trash into briquettes delivers a Btu

output comparable to wood and/or corn-based pellets.

The Btu's can be increased to 9,000 per pound by

adding a small amount of crude cottonseed oil or

crude glycerin (a by-product of bio-diesel production).

Peanut Hull Pellets

Another exciting new ag residue fuel option

Peanut hull pellets, available to customers in a 5/16" diameter pellet, have been proven to be a very consistent and high Btu value fuel. Typical Btu values range from 7850 to 7950 Btu's per pound. Bulk density is equal to wood pellets, typically 40 pounds per cubic foot, with moisture at 5%. Ash content will be at 2.5% to 3.5%.

Combustion characteristics are very similar to wood pellets with the exception of the higher ash content and product flowability is excellent.

Pricing ranges between 30 - 40% less than bulk wood pellets making this a very economical choice.
